Overview: This collection of outfits was originally created for an actual Poplin client using her new and existing pieces. After all, there’s no need to pretend you don’t already have clothes when it’s time to get something new. Ideally, these photos will help inspire you to create new outfits at home. We’re all about strategy here at Poplin. Each piece should mix and match with the majority of your wardrobe to simplify your life. Take a look at this client’s Uber Wishlist to see the items that I recommended for her to purchase and understand the approach to her authentic personal style.
Feel free to determine your body type and personal style key words to do your own shopping and hop on the email list for more ideas. The Poplin Pinterest Boards are super helpful, too! Want more personal attention? Check out the styling services.
Outfit Strategy: Jessica’s outfits are all about plug and play. Between her demanding job as a corporate attorney and her family life including time with her husband and very young daughter, there simply isn’t time to dive into her outfit each morning. Because Jessica has a hybrid work environment, with more hours at the office than at home, it was essential to include outfits that are functional for weather throughout the year with options that are just right for court, choices that are better for the office and looks that are ideal for the weekend or WFH days. Luxurious pieces like designer accessories and shoes help communicate her career success to coworkers and clients. Because she works in a male dominated industry, traditional signals of accomplishment for men were just right. From watches to shoes that can be shined with the partners, each component was an intentional choice.
Heads up! These photos aren’t perfect. That’s because our focus is creating as many outfits as possible rather than having perfect photos. Fun fact: each outfit session occurs in the client’s bedroom, so that also impacts the final images. The takeaway here is progress not perfection, my dear. Create useful tools and don’t get hung up on unrealistic expectations. Have fun and get inspired!
