Overview: This collection of outfits was originally created for an actual Poplin client using her new and existing pieces. After all, there’s no need to pretend you don’t already have clothes when it’s time to get something new. Ideally, these photos will help inspire you to create new outfits at home. We’re all about strategy here at Poplin. Each piece should mix and match with the majority of your wardrobe to simplify your life. Take a look at this client’s Uber Wishlist to see the items that I recommended for her to purchase and understand the approach to her authentic personal style.
Feel free to determine your body type and personal style key words to do your own shopping and hop on the email list for more ideas. The Poplin Pinterest Boards are super helpful, too! Want more personal attention? Check out the styling services.
Outfit Strategy: Beth has a minimalist approach to style but that doesn’t have to limit her to solids and neutrals. Because we limited her collection to her winter color chart, she has the flexibility to embrace any color on the chart, knowing each one works with the others. I always tell clients that, “the stem never clashes with the flower. Green works with everything, it’s just selecting the proper green for you.” This approach empowered us to use a bright green handbag and feel confident that it would actually be super practical. And, as Beth wears scrubs to work each day, we focused her budget on more luxurious pieces that made her look and feel beautiful. Her daughter helped me create some looks and I included her in several photos, so I removed those to respect everyone’s privacy. But, you can catch a glimpse of her below. She added her mom’s graduation sash as her favorite accessory to pull the outfit together. What can I say? I love this job.
