Wishlist Goal: Chandra loves clothes but has never invested in them. She opts for used pieces, many of which were given to her by friends or coworkers. She had several pieces that were disintegrating or had holes in them. It would be easy to assume that she wasn’t interested in style because she has means and yet wore pieces that were actually falling apart. But it was clear in our conversation that she has a love of style and was simply unsure what flattered her. Because of this, she never wanted to spend money on pieces that may or may not work. Seeing which pieces caused her to light up, even when they were old, offered great insight into what she responds to. Our strategy was to marry her style with her body type starting with shoes that are supremely comfortable and still edgy. It was also clear that I needed to prove the value of each piece before she’d be willing to invest.

Yes! You can wear the Mara Hoffman dress to work. The key is to dress it down a bit with a casual shoe. This is one of many on the list from which you can choose. Each one is comfortable and cool. Ballard favorite re-souL is all about comfort, so you can also try these on in person, if you’d like. They are a fun change from your Fluevogs without sacrificing style or comfort.

You love a great deal and this pair if earrings from Baublebar is a major win in that department. These also pair easily with your list, especially the jackets.

Speaking of jackets…. Your love of your waterfall cardigan makes me want to include the faux suede jacket on the left. It’s flattering, functional and will mix and match easily with your new and existing collection. The jacket on the right is a slightly lighter shade, likely a little more peachy and in vegan leather. It feels current, flattering and useful regardless of the weather. You certainly don’t need both (and both are great values). I vote you get them and we can send back the least exciting option. Let’s just acknowledge that dresses bring you joy. They simplify your life. They make you feel good. They are all the things. So, rather than change your entire lifestyle, we’re leaning into dresses. That being said, we want to be sure each dress is flattering for your shape. You are a fan of Ted Baker and this Ted Baker dress is sure to be a winner. You’ll stay warm without needing an extra layer. But, it also looks incredible with a jacket layered over top. Each one on this list works well. I’m a big fan of a pale pink choice.

Shall we jump up and down together?! Camper makes super hip shoes and they are incredibly comfortable, too. Finish off this look with either pair. Burgundy is one of your favs and these will work with the majority of your collection. Even better, they are just right for work or the weekend.

Hello, Madmen! Again, no complicated two piece combos here. Just throw on this dress and go. I love it solo and of course, it’s great with any of the jackets, too. Channel your inner Miss Mazel and embrace the peplum that will flatter your frame and minimize your stomach. Try the black jacket and the heels below for a start.

Ahhhh!!!!! And the heel is only 1 3/4 inches. These will be especially delightful with black or nude fishnets. Any time that the burgundy boots work, these shoes can work. Having more than one shoe in the same color simplifies your decision making but also ensures that you have the appropriate footwear for the occasion (and for the amount of walking you’ll do that day).

Geometric shapes are your jam and we want to ensure that you have a pair of earrings you can toss on with virtually any outfit. You prefer silver to gold and this silver pair is just right. If we stick with one metal, additional jewelry choices will work together seamlessly. In this case, I opted for more unique and colorful pieces as silver is easier for you to find in the future.

This Walter Baker jacket is so beautiful in real life. It’s luxurious and will elevate any outfit. Plus, the hardware is silver, so it coordinates nicely with your jewelry and it’s a timeless style.

The Universal Standard Geneva dress is the ideal dress for the weekend. Yes, of course, it’s great for work, too. But on the weekend you can pair it with sneakers, boots or sandals and quickly discover that you are as comfortable as you would be in a pair of pajamas. This combo is also petite! So, ideally we won’t need to do any tailoring. I love it paired with the pink leather jacket to get things started. It also works with every jacket and sweater on the list. It can be tossed in the washing machine.

I vote for a pair of oxfords. They have a very cool, vintage inspired vibe. They are flat, so walking is a breeze. And, this timeless black pair can be easily combined with any combination on this list. I’m into it. This pair from re-souL is crazy comfortable and on sale. Again, you can try them on in the store if that’s appealing to you. Let them know I sent you for extra love or just order online.

Your favorite brocade dress is a great reminder of your adoration for vintage inspired pieces and this fabric. This timeless cut is just right for your hourglass shape. Wear a strapless bra with this and so solo or layer one of the jackets over top. So many choices! It’s just right for events and is a nice go to when you have to throw something together quickly but don’t want to sacrifice your style.

Another solid choice that allows you to skip the layering thanks to the sleeves, the print is all you and the fabric is luxurious while still very functional. It’s a great choice throughout the year, which is also a win. Try it with boots or sandals. The options are endless.

Your multicolored bracelet brings you so much joy and this necklace is sure to elicit all sorts of happiness. It’s a fun way to introduce color that is anything but boring.

Oh my goodness. I’ve been waiting to get to this one! It’s even better IRL. This knit dress feels like a cozy sweater. It’s comfortable, flatters your shape and is a timeless choice that you’ll have for years. You look lovely in cream and this is just right for an array of situations. Feel like color? Toss on the pink leather jacket (or the cognac option below). I’m REALLY into it with….

This vegan leather blazer. It’s true. It’s boxy. But we can shape it, if need be. I’m hopeful that the shape will actually be really great from the get go. It’s longer so it will elongate your torso and an all cream outfit is going to be truly stunning on you. Finish it off with any of the shoes that speak to you that day.

Channeling your beloved pieces, this graphic print wrap dress is an eco star, as well. Imagine it with the burgundy heels! Or the boots! Or the black leather jacket! Options abound. Your black and white checkered coat is a great indication that this will be a favorite.

It’s important that you have layering choices that are not leather or vegan leather, of course. This blazer from Aritzia is one of my absolute favorites. You’ll adore the fit. It’s reminiscent of your waterfall cardigan, minimizing the stomach and without closures offering more space at the bust. The length is flattering for your torso and it comes in black and white. Really, choosing between them is the hardest part. So, don’t feel like you need to do that:) The white option is further down on this list.

If you liked the bangle, you’ll love the ring.

Another magical print and this one from the one and only Ted Baker. A great choice that keeps you warm without a jacket, this unexpected print is a stellar option for interviews, with or without a jacket over top. Try it with a pink leather jacket, as an example.

I had to do it. We’ve got a solid collection on boots for work and play above. United Nude is my favorite shoe brand and this pair of boots is a masterpiece. The founder of the brand is named after his uncle, Rem Koolhaus. His uncle also happens to be the architect behind the Seattle Public Library and an array of other incredible buildings. These are comfortable and less than 2 1/2 inches. They are a stellar way to elevate your look when it’s still raining. And, there’s a sale at UN right now!

Let’s make sure you have a new black cardigan, shall we? I vote for this one from Aritzia.

Jumpsuits can be tricky because you are petite and short waisted. That being said, there’s no time like the present. This one is good for the world and good for you. Jumpsuits, like dresses, make getting dressed effortless. We can try it and tailor as needed. You’ll be surprised how practical this piece is.

Why not mix things up with rings? And since we are experimenting, why not do that with an insanely affordable choice? Stacking rings is super cool for you and this color palette is easy to work with.

It’s true. You have not been into the browns in the past. And, yes, you can continue on that trajectory. However, your camel and leather cardigan has worked well for you and cognac is in your color chart, so why not try it and see where we land? This shad feels luxurious and is a fun departure from black. These are super affordable making this route feel even less risky.

The prints at Ziran are really in your wheelhouse. There are a variety of cuts that are also flattering. Although many of them are not work appropriate. That being said, you should have some fun on that site looking at tops that would be ideal for a night out and/or layering under jackets. Pairing a top and skirt of the same fabric will elongate your waist, simplify your life and make your entire look more put together. Black florals are your thing and this one is everything. This brand is also good for the world.

Finish this or any of the other looks off with this crazy fun pair of loafers from Jeffrey Campbell. They are reasonably priced, comfortable and are all 60’s mod all the time.

It’s rare to find a super cool print sweater that isn’t a zillion dollars. Get it while you can. It will elongate your waist, channel your love of black and white together and is super hip with the pants on this list.

Your friend’s got nothing on you. These are the joggers you need. Try them with the floral blouse above, the black and white sweater or the tops below for work or weekend. They also work with all of the shoes!

I know you’ve got your long black puffer, but I had to include this one just in case…. I am partial to the white but either are great for you and the price is certainly right.

Boden has created the ideal t-shirt for you. The brand also carries petite pants and dresses for future knowledge.

Two great options for pants. Don’t feel that you need to choose between them. Aritizia makes the best pants. So, trying the Conans (below) and the joggers (above) is a great idea. We can always return. These are the jeans for you and the price is right.

We’re finishing strong with this insanely sophisticated, hip suit from Aritzia. It’s the same blazer that was listed above in black. Really, it’s magical.

Try it with this tie neck blouse. We know you love them (with a knot and the tie hanging down sans bow) and they minimize your stomach. This print is cool, unexpected, practical and a great choice for interviews.

The Conan pant again for the win! So effortless. You won’t feel like you are trying to hard and simultaneously you’ll look like a super bad ass…. because you are one.
